About

Vrksasana

It is pronounced verks (like birks/works) ahsana...verks-asana...vrksasana!  Practice it a few times, it will become a piece of cake!

Vrksasana (Tree Pose in Sanskrit) is a beautiful metaphor for life: rooting down for stability while reaching up for growth, teaching you to be both strong and flexible, grounded in your body yet connected to the vastness above, finding inner calm and focus amidst life's swaying winds.

Kirsten Dukeshier

Before moving full time to the White Mountains in 2020, Kirsten was a junior high music teacher in Phoenix for 19 years. Then she became an off-grid homesteader, chopping wood with an axe and learning how to use power tools.

When she developed severe chronic pelvic pain in her early 20s, she initially leaned upon western medicine, culminating in multiple surgeries and too many medications to count.

It was only when she began to practice yoga in her late 30s that her chronic pain finally began to recede.

She is honored to share with you what her teachers have taught her, and inspired by the love and capability she sees in all of her students. She hopes to see you on your mat soon!

Ramon

Ramón teaches a trauma-informed style of yoga that blends mindful movement, breathwork, restorative practices, meditation, and nervous system support. His classes are welcoming, steady, and intentional, with an emphasis on helping students feel safe, present, and connected to their own bodies.

He believes yoga is not about performance or perfection, but about listening inward, building resilience, and returning to yourself with compassion.

As a Veteran and the Executive Director of Warriors at Ease, Ramón is especially passionate about sharing yoga with Veterans, service members, first responders, caregivers, and anyone seeking a more supportive relationship with their body and mind.

He is honored to share practices that have supported his own growth and healing, and he looks forward to welcoming you to the mat.

Genevieve

Genevieve’s path has always been rooted in the wisdom of nature, the body, and the simple rituals that bring people back into balance. Raised between the garden and the kitchen beside her mother, her love for nourishing food and the natural world began at an early age.

She later attended Michigan State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Organic and Sustainable Horticulture, deepening her understanding of soil, farmers, and the vitality of real food.

Her studies then expanded into the body, breath, and spirit through traditional Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, and Yin Yoga teacher training in Bali. These teachings continue to shape the way she approaches food, wellness, seasonal living, and inner balance.

Today, Genevieve works as a holistic chef for wellness retreats, private gatherings, and events as well as a yoga teacher.

She believes that nourishing the body through movement, real food, community, and connection to nature can support much of the healing and balance we need today.

Pat

Hi, I'm Pat. From attending my first yoga class I wanted to know more. The focus on peace and well-being fit perfectly with my career as a psychologist. In 2008, I completed a 500-hr teacher training certification in Hatha yoga.

This style is designed to help build strength, improve flexibility, and find mental clarity.

My classes focus on helping each practitioner have a positive experience. Using breathwork and precise alignment, you are ensured a safe and empowering practice.

Whether you're taking your very first class or looking to refine your foundations, I'm here to guide you toward your goal.
